COMMUNITY

ORGANIZING

I spend a great deal of time on community building projects. The below are initiatives I either started or help organize/manage/produce. I believe, without hesitation, that building strong communities is how we save the world.

THE t4t ART COLLECTIVE

The aim of The t4t Art Collective is to create opportunities for transgender artists, establish representation + normalization of trans bodies in art, and foster connective, creative, & in-person community. We accomplish this by offering monthly figure drawing sessions & seasonal art shows to support trans artists outside the trad gallery scene. Follow us at @Thet4tArtCollective

COMMUNITY STITCH PDX

Community Stitch PDX is a sewing makerspace in inner southeast Portland. We offer classes and workshops at low cost for the community, and value repair and reuse principles. Contact us at on our instagram @CommunityStitchPDX

GENDERBOMB

Genderbomb is a nonprofit organization that creates events by and for the trans community: theatre, game nights, open mics, free yoga, and other special events. I help as a producer, designer, and mover and shaker! Follow & interact with us at our instagram @genderbombpdx

FRIENDS OF THE FOUR TANKS CANYON

Way out in the Sonoran Desert is a man named Charles Joseph Wilson who has a vision for an intentional community. I stayed there and helped him build the foundation of it, through a concrete apprenticeship, some basic mechanics and plumbing lessons, and by absorbing the Sonoran landscape by attaining my Master Gardener and Master Naturalist certifications.
