I spend a great deal of time on community building projects. The below are initiatives I either started or help organize/manage/produce. I believe, without hesitation, that building strong communities is how we save the world.
The aim of The t4t Art Collective is to create opportunities for transgender artists, establish representation + normalization of trans bodies in art, and foster connective, creative, & in-person community. We accomplish this by offering monthly figure drawing sessions & seasonal art shows to support trans artists outside the trad gallery scene. Follow us at @Thet4tArtCollective
Community Stitch PDX is a sewing makerspace in inner southeast Portland. We offer classes and workshops at low cost for the community, and value repair and reuse principles. Contact us at on our instagram @CommunityStitchPDX

Way out in the Sonoran Desert is a man named Charles Joseph Wilson who has a vision for an intentional community. I stayed there and helped him build the foundation of it, through a concrete apprenticeship, some basic mechanics and plumbing lessons, and by absorbing the Sonoran landscape by attaining my Master Gardener and Master Naturalist certifications.
